San Pedro Necta daily huipil.

This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton warp striped panel. This panel is decorated with supplementary weft brocade in geometric motifs. Necta huipils are constructed so that the warp runs horizontally when worn and is partially closed along one side to create a head opening. This construction is unique to San Pedro Necta huipils. The head and arm openings are finished with hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. This classic example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Bonifacia Mendez Bocó at the Artesanos market in Antigua Guatemala. W 62 x L 90 cm opened. (11-85) $ 80. OBO
